Wonderland By Kory Wienke

Your teary eyed
Eyes twinkle in the starriest night
You empathize
Because I knew you were right

Emotional lacks self control
Feels like spiraling
Going down rabbit holes
Finding little things is inspiring

A brain full of thoughts
Scattered among one  puzzle piece
Allowing new lessons taught
Tearing off thread from your fleece

Your desensitized
On another planet
Fog clouding up the skies
Letting free of your gannet

Your bird flying away
A shooting star
Your dreams aren’t so far away

Biography:

Hi, I am Kory Wienke, and most of my pieces come from my life experiences and my surroundings. My pieces Insomnia and Wonderland are parts of a long series of poems called Fairytopia The-Land of Loss, Hope, and Dreams. The themes from this collection are from a time last year when it was very mentally draining for me to do anything. I wanted Insomnia to reflect how it felt when your days start to blend into each other and aren’t composed of coherent thoughts. Wonderland was somehow different for me, I wanted it to reflect how mental instability feels and how your mind leads you to infinite conclusions. I am really happy that I was encouraged to turn my pieces in by my dear friend. When writing this I felt the weight relieve from my shoulders and weigh all that weight down onto the paper. I hope you guys enjoy these two stories and get to read more of my work as I get it published.-
