Biography: I came to Aims to pursue a cost effective education that would support my goal to earn a bachelors degree. As a first generation student, I’ve been driven to enter the tech field where I can make the efforts of my immigrant family worthwhile. Before I was a computer science major however, I was an artist, and before that, I was a musician. The arts have always been an escape for me to practice my technical skills while creating meaningful work. Photography has only ever been a way to hold onto the feelings I’ve experienced when traveling. My photograph “The Land Breathes” is from the Highlands of Scotland where it feels like the land quite literally breathes. Every inch of ground is covered with green foliage that thrives off the wet environment. It feels alive in the deepest of ways. These are the moments I try to capture through photography so that I might look back on my photos and remember just how I felt in the moment. Walt Whitman, a poet, has been one of my inspirations as his work often reminds me to appreciate the beauty of life without focusing on the complexities of science that explain our being.
