All submissions go through a student editorial board for selection which is overseen by Aims faculty. Submission does not guarantee publication.
There are two levels of publication. Because we have a limited number of pages we can print, not every accepted piece will be in the print magazine. Please read your acceptance letter carefully!:
- Print: The best work will be published both in the print magazine and the online platform.
- Online: Work that is exceptional but not deemed ready for print will be posted on the Aims Review website.
Artist’s Rights:
- The Artist shall have full creative control over the artistic work.
- The Aims Review agrees not to interfere with the artistic process and decisions made by the Artist unless otherwise mutually agreed upon.*
*The only exception to point two are minor editorial adjustments made to written artistic pieces to correct typographical or grammatical errors or to make clarifications when necessary.
Publication Rights:
- The artist grants the Aims Review the non-exclusive right* to publish, reproduce, distribute, and display the artistic work in the Aims Review magazine and its associated platforms including but not limited to print, the Review’s website, advertising, and social media.
- The Aims Review agrees to credit the Artist wherever the artistic work is used or published.
*Non-exclusive rights mean the artist retains control over their work and may reprint/republish their work at will.
Marketing Material:
- The artist grants the Aims Review the right to use the artistic work in marketing and promotional material related to the Aims Review, including, but not limited to cover photos, advertising, social media promotion, and promotional events.
