Biography: I came to Aims to pursue a technical career as a non-traditional student. I am studying Automotive Collision Repair Technology and have already completed a year of education here at the time of writing this. I have already learned so much and love studying here!
I first began mobile photography when I got my first smartphone at 13. I believe it was an iPhone 5S, and I still have some of the grainy sunset photos I took then. While I have never wanted to pursue photography as a career, I have actively been practicing ever since then.
This piece in particular was captured on my vacation to Santa Fe with my brother and sister. We had intentionally chosen dark sky zones to view, such as Victor, CO, but it had been cloudy every day of our trip. Finally, after 5 days of traveling, we arrived in Taos and had a window of a couple hours where the sky was somewhat clear. This was the first time I had ever seen the Milky Way, and I captured the stars with my Google Pixel 6 as the sun was setting. I hope to capture more astrophotography shots in the future!
