Illusion of Control – The World Today by Steve Padilla

Illusion of Control - The World Today
Biography – I grew up in Greeley and spent my childhood drawing and expressing myself in art. I went a long time not doing any art at all as I moved around throughout my life. Then about 12 years ago my nephew, who graduated from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, started paint and sip classes in which he taught the basics of painting and color mixing. Since then, I have instructed my own paint and sip classes, but I wanted to learn more about painting and get more in-depth than simple paint and sips. I decided to enroll in a continuing education painting class at Aims to develop my skills.
I’ve always loved the use of colors and bold painting strokes employed by impressionist painters such as Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, and Tom Thomson. They can evoke feelings with form, color, and light. I am still developing my own style and the instruction I received at Aims and the talented young art students I have met inspire me to continue my own artistic journey.
