Atezal the Naga by Abby DeBoer

Atezal the Naga

Biography: My name is Abagail I go by Abby and my friends know me as Dust. Since I could hold a pen I was doing art, and I was drawn to the unusual and creepy. These things stood out to me as things people could easily misinterpret or fear, and that gave me ideas to create creatures that could leave people unable to look away. Video Games, movies, books, and art are all sources of inspiration for me, especially media that features my own phobia: the fear of deep water Thalassophobia. By exploring my own fear and understanding how I register my own fears I create art exploiting that feeling, and I expand to understanding other fears. I continue to create phobia monsters based on phobias ranging from the well known Arachnophobia, the fear of spiders to the more obscure Ommetaphobia, the fear of eyes. I also draw Dragons and other mythical beasts. So from my grand and mystical dragons to my phobia monsters I strive to leave an impression people might not forget. I tell you the reader one of the most important things about art is do what you love, find that unusual niche that makes your art yours and if it doesn’t seem unusual to you that’s perfectly fine too! Don’t compare yourself to others because you are unique and so is everyone else!
Big Thank you to Aims for giving me an opportunity to share my hobby with everyone, and a huge thank you to those who stop and ponder my creation! Keep being yourself and have a beautiful life!
