Raise a paper sword,
See what it wants to defend,
Oh what will it do?
It is flimsy, frail
It can only do so much,
Can it be so sharp?
What will it cut, slice?
This or that, what can it do?
A plain paper cut…
Or a great sever?
So lay down the paper sword,
And leave it to rest.

Biography:

My name is Kora Campbell, and I am a high school student. I was brought to Aims because my school offers its classes to us, and I want to get ahead in college. My writing is how I express my love for storytelling and how I sort through my jumbled thoughts. I was drawn to storytelling for as long as I can remember. I always loved to read books before bed, and every game I played always had a plot. I am a writer who loves to explore characters’ emotions and create new worlds. I am inspired by many of the authors I read, but Tui T. Sutherland is one of my oldest and biggest inspirations.
