Biography – Art to me is about expressing a feeling and a story. It can be in big flashy ways, such as cinema, or in more subtle and personal ways that may not be obvious to every observer. Artists put their feelings, thoughts and a little piece of themselves into everything they create. That gives it a tangible life that goes out in the world and brings people together on the basis of mutual experiences and understanding expressed by the piece.
I’ve found that I strive most in my artistic process when it’s spurred by the thoughts and feelings that are commonly considered taboo or difficult to talk about publicly. It tends to result in a lot of work that’s considered edgy and dark, but those are such potent emotions that deserve to be talked about and processed. Art has become my way to process those topics, and can hopefully connect to others and show that even the difficult and quiet things don’t have to be lonely too
