Biography: My name is Azul Gonzalez and I drew The Great Wave of Death in my art class. I like drawing and painting, so art means something to me. A lot of the time when I don’t have anything to do I’ll draw with my little brothers and we’ll all have fun together, all three of them enjoy the arts as well, so i would consider them the artists that inspired my work. But my inspiration for this artwork specifically was death, we were prompted in class to draw something in the wave that we were afraid of and i chose to have my artwork depict dying. Not necessarily me dying, but people that I love and care for, which is where the gravestones in the water come in. Drawing this piece was really fun, the art class with Ms. Fleshner is definitely one of my favorite classes I’ve taken for Aims.
