\n<\/span>If you knew you couldn\u2019t die?<\/span>
\n<\/span>What would you do<\/span>
\n<\/span>If you knew your last days<\/span>
\n<\/span>Depended on a god willing to let you go?<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>To be able to live without fear.<\/span>
\n<\/span>They tell you it\u2019s a blessing,<\/span>
\n<\/span>A gift from some benevolent god,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Like the wings on your back.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>Because it feels like a curse.<\/span>
\n<\/span>You can\u2019t agree,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Because everyone you\u2019ve loved died<\/span>
\n<\/span>And you\u2019ve been left to your own devices.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>\u201cYou\u2019ll be happier with a family.\u201d<\/span>
\n<\/span>The other immortals tell you<\/span>
\n<\/span>To forget your dead son,<\/span>
\n<\/span>But you can\u2019t stop missing him.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>From grief. (you miss him so much)<\/span>
\n<\/span>Maybe your wings are black<\/span>
\n<\/span>From what you\u2019ve done. (You ask him to forgive you)<\/span>
\n<\/span>(The void doesn\u2019t respond.)<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>You can hear his voice.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Sometimes in the quiet<\/span>
\n<\/span>You can hear his laugh,<\/span>
\n<\/span>It drowns out the other voices that scream for blood and vengeance.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>To never see him again.<\/span>
\n<\/span>It is a curse<\/span>
\n<\/span>To never hold him again,<\/span>
\n<\/span>Save for in your dreams and nightmares.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>If you\u2019d held him in his last moments.<\/span>
\n<\/span>You\u2019d give up too<\/span>
\n<\/span>If you\u2019d heard him beg for the end<\/span>
\n<\/span>As his blood soaked your clothes and skin.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>Says it\u2019s because it won\u2019t help you.<\/span>
\n<\/span>She still won\u2019t let you go<\/span>
\n<\/span>Says it\u2019s because you still have a purpose to fulfill<\/span>
\n<\/span>But maybe it\u2019s because she hates you.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>But love would let you see him again.<\/span>
\n<\/span>They say it\u2019s out of love,<\/span>
\n<\/span>But no one\u2019s loved you,<\/span>
\n<\/span>And death would be the sweetest act of love.<\/span><\/p>\n
