Why are we fighting?<\/span><\/p>\n Why do we hate?<\/span><\/p>\n Why are we discriminating?<\/span><\/p>\n Adding more to our plates?<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n First, Black Lives Matter<\/span><\/p>\n they fought for their rights<\/span><\/p>\n That no color matters<\/span><\/p>\n That we each can shine bright<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n But then why did they destroy buildings?<\/span><\/p>\n Break into rooms of the innocent?<\/span><\/p>\n What can justify killing?<\/span><\/p>\n Taking the life of a fellow citizen?<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Second, Capitol Building Riots<\/span><\/p>\n They wanted to support their President<\/span><\/p>\n They wanted a fair election<\/span><\/p>\n Which was what they strived to represent<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n But then why did they break the windows?<\/span><\/p>\n Shoot people who did naught but scream?<\/span><\/p>\n Why did they take such measures?<\/span><\/p>\n Go to such an extreme?<\/span><\/p>\n On one side, people fight for justice<\/span><\/p>\n On another, they fight for peace<\/span><\/p>\n In some they fight for their rights<\/span><\/p>\n In others they fight against police<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n But there’s also people who fight to hurt<\/span><\/p>\n They seek to accept people of only their color<\/span><\/p>\n To destroy our nation to create one of their birth<\/span><\/p>\n Accept only people with their ideas and no other<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n People say they fight to look past differences<\/span><\/p>\n To stop people discriminating<\/span><\/p>\n But they\u2019ve put a barrier between citizens\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Our nation is separating<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Capitol Building Rioters say they fight for what’s right<\/span><\/p>\n They fight to help Trump, they fight for his might<\/span><\/p>\n They say elections were rigged, and the Democrats lied\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n They rioted the building to show off their spite<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n BLM says that they fight to look past color<\/span><\/p>\n But when they see someone not of their skin<\/span><\/p>\n Some spit and they hate, they don\u2019t care who you are<\/span><\/p>\n They only care if your one of their kin<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Now this is only for some<\/span><\/p>\n And others are right<\/span><\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t right what had happened<\/span><\/p>\n And it is acceptable to fight<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n But let’s be peaceful protestors<\/span><\/p>\n No more hurting the innocent<\/span><\/p>\n Bring our nation together\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Stop further incidents<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n We\u2019ve entered a new age<\/span><\/p>\n One of technology and innovation<\/span><\/p>\n But also one of both love and of hate<\/span><\/p>\n An age of discrimination<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Author: Lily Adams Email: ladams5@greeleyschools.org Submission: Why are we fighting?
