Archived: The Failed Aristos Achaion by Kay Beck (Freshman)

I danced alone on the dead empty field,

My army down below my dirty feet,

As I knew I had met my painful yield,

And I have arrived at my dear defeat.

For this war has brought me too much longing,

And I am no longer happy here now.

I thought I could take greatness with a ring,

But now my only question is now how?

But once, I was brave like Icarus was

And I longed to reach the sun as he once did.

To be aristos achaion was cause,

But instead, I chose to gamble and bid.

Now, I see I shall never be the best,

And now I can finally lay to rest.
